UFC 84 Fighter Payouts

MoneyThe NSAC has released the fighter payouts for UFC 84. Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional “locker room” bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.

BJ Penn, Wanderlei Silva and Tito Ortiz were the big winners from Saturday’s event, earning $250,000, $225,000 (base + KO bonus), and $210,000, respectively. Conversely, Keith Jardine appeared to be robbed only earning a disclosed $10,000.

Jardine is still on his TUF contract from season two which calls for him to earn $10,000 show/$10,000 win. However, Jardine has likely been a recipient of a “locker room” bonus before, especially after defeating Chuck Liddell last September. Also, Jardine gave up sponsorship money on this fight to don his own line of t-shirts, “Mean Style.” Hopefully, the UFC threw him a bone after the tough loss.
