Rumors have been circulating for a few weeks now that the UFC would be holding an event, which would presumably be UFC 89, in October and somewhere in the UK. Well, it now looks like that somewhere will be Birmingham, England and the date of the show will be October 18.

The UFC will be staging it’s next British event in Birmingham on Saturday October 18th, it has been officially confirmed.
UFC executive Marc Ratner made the announcement on Thursday evening when he appeared on the Setanta News Ultimate Talk Show.
The match that was supposed to happen between Michael Bisping and Chris Leben at UFC 85 before Leben was forced to spend nearly a month in the slammer has been heavily rumored to be taking place on this card. It is also said that the UFC wants Wanderlei Silva to fight in October, presumably at this event.
