According to TMZ.com, with plenty of pictures to boot, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has been arrested for a hit and run and evading arrest. He has been charged with felonies on both offenses.
Former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson got busted just minutes ago, and is currently in custody on the way to the clink, but not before he was ordering on the ground, cops nearby with guns drawn.
Law enforcement sources tell us, Rampage was in a car crash near Newport Beach (that’s near Laguna Beach in the O.C.) and then split the scene. Cops gave chase and eventually caught up and charged him with felony hit and run and felony evading arrest.
Wow, the pictures definitely tell the story. I have two big questions. What possessed Rampage to run and evade arrest? And what was he thinking doing it in his monster truck with a giant picture of himself plastered on the side of it??? Obviously, something wasn’t right. Perhaps, he was intoxicated, or maybe even something worse, but I’m very curious to hear both sides of the story before I jump to conclusions.
We’re working on finding the details. We’ll keep you posted.
[UPDATE 7/15/2008 8:11PM ET] – MMAConvert.com has received confirmation from the Costa Mesa jail that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been released from custody. No further details were immediately available.
More pictures after the jump.
