It’s that time. MMAConvert.com is currently looking for writers/contributors.
Since our launch last April, the voice of this blog has primarily been my own, and the time has come for that to change. I still plan to post on a daily basis, but due to another project I have coming online in a few weeks, it’s going to be impossible for me to produce the level of content you’ve come to expect on my own. Plus, there are many changes and improvements I’ve been planning since last summer that I just haven’t had the time or energy to implement after writing and posting a full day’s worth of content day in and day out.
There’s isn’t a set number of contributors I’m looking for. It could be two, three or even more. It’s solely going to depend on how much everyone can contribute. Basically, how ever many it takes to produce the same level of content we have in the past or more. So, whether you’re interested in posting multiple times a day or just once a week, everyone is welcome to apply.
Here’s the requirements:
- Solid writing skills (spelling, grammar, mechanics, requires little to no editing)
- Possesses a strong knowledge and understanding of mixed martial arts (aka…know what you’re talking about)
- Has a deep passion for mixed martial arts
- Interesting to read…whether your writing is insightful, intelligent, funny, witty, combination of, etc.
Desired, but not required:
- Basic HTML skills
- Has the basic ability to edit photographs (resizing, cropping, etc.)
- Can break news with solid sources
Unfortunately, I cannot offer any sort of compensation at the present time. Only a select few MMA sites are presently making a significant monthly income, and unfortunately, we are not one of them, at least not yet. I don’t want to be in the business of making empty promises, so I can’t guarantee anything, but should the time come where I am able to compensate you for your efforts, I most certainly will. For now, it truly is a labor of love, and for those who are up to it, I can offer you a place to build experience and get exposure.
If you’re interested, you can contact me here or send me an email at steve(at)mmaconvert.com. Be sure to mention how often you can post. Also, please include samples of or links to your previous work, whether it be blog posts, articles, etc. If you don’t have any previous work, write a short blog post on one of the recent topics in MMA. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something short, sweet, and interesting to read. If you have something unique to offer, include that as well.
