For those who missed it last night, here’s the full “Fedor: Baddest Man on the Planet” video broken up into six parts. I did watch it, and will say it was pretty good. I don’t know that it gave as much of an inside look into his training as the promo advertised, but there’s definitely enough insight into Fedor’s life to keep even the most informed Fedor fan interested. That said, this show is all about introducing Fedor and hyping him up to the casual fan who has no idea who he is, and in many ways, it was effective, although I’m not overly optimistic that a significant number of casual fans actually saw it since it was on FSN.
My only gripe with it was throughout the hour of building Fedor up, there wasn’t a single mention of Fedor fighting this weekend. If you’re going to spend the time and money to sell Fedor to your audience, wouldn’t you want to inform them of when, where and how you can actually see Fedor fight next? If I run an infomercial for my new invention that does your laundry, cooks you dinner and cleans your car, am I not going to tell you every chance I get how much my invention costs and how you can buy it? I realize it was produced by M-1 Global (Affliction’s other “partner”), but they have an interest is people seeing Fedor fight too. This just seems like another missed opportunity.
By the way, can’t miss moment at the 5:57 mark of the third video. Priceless. Parts 2-6 after the jump.
