The lightweights will be showcased on Spike TV once again when season nine of The Ultimate Fighter wraps up in June. Coming off an impressive debut at 155, Diego Sanchez will attempt to make the weight once more against Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida, as reported by Sherdog.
The potent lightweight pair has agreed to meet in the headlining bout of “The Ultimate Fighter 9” finale on June 20 at the Pearl inside the Palms Resort in Las Vegas, according to sources close to the fighters. The bout will anchor a night of final deciding bouts for the Spike TV reality series, which begins airing in April.
This will be a tough test for both fighters, and could provide a number one contender in the stacked lightweight division. If nothing else, the incredible pace that both of these fighters provide should make for an exciting fight. When two of the most intense fighters to grace the Octagon face off against one another, fireworks are sure to follow.
In fact, I can picture the stare down now.
