On a related note, Zak Woods introduced the news to the MMA blogosphere earlier today that THQ is having serious financial issues. One analyst even said the company has a 50-50% chance of going bankrupt.

What does this mean for UFC 2009 Undisputed?

Honestly, probably nothing, at least not for this release. As I’ve said before, my understanding of high corporate finance is not the best, but THQ isn’t going to just vanish tomorrow and take the game with it. If anything, should the game become a hit and turn into a franchise, but not enough to help pull THQ out of their financial hole, perhaps it could affect future releases. Either way though, if the game’s good and proves to be profitable, someone will continue to produce it, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
