Mercer’s A Litmus Test For Sylvia’s Potential Boxing Career

Monte CoxApparently, there is a somewhat legitimate reason why Monte Cox has booked the still ridiculous Tim Sylvia-Ray Mercer boxing match for his upcoming Adrenaline III event.

Since no one’s foolish enough to give Tim another $800k, Monte hopes Tim can make a transition to where the big money’s at—boxing. Mercer’s more like a litmus test, if you will.

We’re hoping that this can maybe open some doors in boxing. A 6”8 heavyweight boxer can make some more (money) than MMA guys. (But) if he can’t go through Mercer, he will probably not have much of a boxer career.

Something tells me this isn’t going to work out too well for big Tim. You all know I’m pretty clueless when it comes to boxing, but I suspect, even as a solid heavyweight striker, Tim’s probably not going to make it very far in professional boxing whether he beats Mercer or not.

Oh, and by the way, Monte thinks it’s “ridiculous” that the NJACB refused to sanction the fight. Heh, imagine that.
