It’s no secret that Nick Diaz is quite fond of smoking marijuana, and it has cost him a victory in the past. Recently, however, getting busted for weed hasn’t been a problem for Nick, and not because he learned his lesson and quit smoking before fights. Quite the opposite, in fact.
I’m more consistent about everything being a cannabis user,” Diaz said in an interview with The Times last week. “I’m happy to get loaded, hear some good music . . . I remain consistent. And I have an easy way to deal with [the drug tests]. I can pass a drug test in eight days with herbal cleansers. I drink 10 pounds of water and sweat out 10 pounds of water every day. I’ll be fine.
There’s a huge problem when a professional athlete can admit to consuming a banned substance only days out from competition, yet still get away with it. Why hasn’t anyone decided to randomly test Nick for marijuana, and suspended or fined him
when if he gets caught?
The California State Athletic Commission has a big problem on their hands when the athletes that they are governing openly mock their system by coming out and declaring to the general public that they’ll simply get around it.
Leave it to Nick Diaz to bring a new meaning to the term ‘puff, puff, pass.’
