“I was born ready for this fight. I’m training hard for this one and this is the biggest fight of my career. I’m really excited to fight the baddest man on the earth and I can’t wait to knock him out. I’ve gotten so much better. I feel like the luckiest man in the world – fighting GSP, the toughest man on the planet, and fighting at UFC 100 is an honor.”
–Thiago Alves, via Setanta Sports, comments on what he plans to do to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100, but can he do it?
Well, Matt Serra put GSP down so it’s definitely possible, but Alves better bring superman-like takedown defense with him that night if he’s going to do it.

Personally, I don’t see Alves being able to take out GSP. It’s definitely a possibility, but even though Alves has gotten ’so much better’, we seem to see a better version of GSP every time he fights now.
That’s scary.
Ever since the loss to Matt Hughes, GSP has looked unstoppable. At no point in any of the fights since has he looked to be in trouble even once. Yes, Alves poses some new problems, but with a well-structured Greg Jackson implemented game plan, I don’t foresee GSP down for the count.
You mean Serra right.
