Alistair Overeem Says He’s Defending His Strikeforce Title On June 6

Move over Lawler and Shields, Alistair Overeem will be defending his Strikeforce Heavyweight title on June 6, or so he says at least. He didn’t say who he would be fighting, but Steve Cofield says Brett Rogers is a possible opponent if wins tonight. And really, who else is there? Alistair says he wants a crack at Fedor, Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski. Obviously, it won’t be any of those guys on June 6, but who knows, maybe one of those fights could happen later this year if Affliction folds or lends one of them out.

Oh, and by the way, if you have something to say about Alistair’s physique, namely how big he’s gotten and how he did it, he kindly requests that you come say it to his face. Go ahead, I dare you.

Props to Ariel Helwani and JarryPark.com for the scoop.
