Thiago Silva Shuffled To UFC 102 Against Jardine

Thiago SilvaLooks like it didn’t take too long for Thiago Silva to find another fight after getting booted out of the Griffin match-up at UFC 101.

According to MMA Junkie, instead of Forrest, Silva will face the UFC’s go-to-guy Keith Jardine.

Brazilian slugger Thiago Silva (13-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) woke up this morning believing he would be facing Forrest Griffin on Aug. 8 at UFC 101. He’ll go to sleep preparing to face Keith Jardine (14-5-1 MMA, 6-4 UFC) at UFC 102.

Sources close to the organization have informed MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that “The Dean of Mean” and Siva have verbally agreed to meet at the Aug. 29 event.

Bout agreements are expected to be finalized shortly.

Not a bad fight, and actually a lot less predictable than Forrest vs. Anderson. At the moment, I’m not sure who I’ll go with on this one, but if I had to pick I’d take Jardine just because he’s due for a win.

That pretty much leaves Mauricio “Shogun” Rua left as the only other big name light heavyweight without a fight, assuming Ramage is still waiting in the wings for the Evans-Machida winner. Perhaps, Shogun will get the loser, maybe fight someone like Luiz Cane, or just wait for a rematch with Forrest.
