Tom Atencio on the cover of Entrepreneur MagazineI subscribe to two magazines—FIGHT! Magazine and Entrepreneur. So, when I went to the mailbox the other day and saw Tom Atencio staring back at me, you can imagine I was a little surprised when it said Entrepreneur instead of FIGHT! at the top.

You wouldn’t think (I didn’t) Tom would be the ideal choice to represent MMA on the cover of a magazine dedicated to telling the stories of successful entrepreneurs, but the story really isn’t about Affliction Entertainment. It’s more about the industry as a whole, including the MMA lifestyle and apparel industry, which Affliction has been highly successful in. So, I suppose they could have done worse, although still rather ironic all things considered.

    Well gotta love them shirts. I sort of wonder how much of that success has come from the exposure the UFC has given them.IDK….anyways the guy seems to be cool, but i love my UFC….so oh well.

    Affliction got a ton of publicity from the UFC; that was where i first heard of them. There are many better canidates for that cover. Dana F—— White desevres that way more than Tom, whose fight promotions are likely going to cease. Oh well, I think he is stupid, but to each his own, right?
