Good god, Mike Whitehead says he weighed 285 lbs. eight weeks his Strikeforce fight in June against Kevin Randleman. That’s roughly the same weight Brock Lesnar walks around at although I’m sure Whitehead wasn’t quite as solid as Brock. He didn’t have to cut down to the 265 lbs. limit like Brock though, he had to cut to 205. For those keeping score that’s eighty pounds in eight weeks! As Steve Cofield put it, that’s just insanity.
Whitehead also says he’ll return to Strikeforce in October. He wants a rematch against Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral for the title, but the opponent he really wants is Tito Ortiz who he claims is the reason he dropped to 205 in the first place years ago.
