According to this blurb on Showtime Sports’ homepage, Brett Rogers has been named Fedor Emelianenko’s first opponent in Strikeforce.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but I can’t say I’m not disappointed that Fedor isn’t fighting Overeem for the title first. I’m also not gonna lie and say it should be that great of a fight either. Rogers has a puncher’s chance, but that’s about the extent of it. My early prediction is Brett gets Sylvia’d in the first round. Eh, at least we don’t have to pay $50 to see it.
By the way, the date and venue is unknown at this point.
