  1. Shogun did not get robbed – he should have won, but he by no means got robbed – and there is no way shogun won the 3rd round – I had him winning 3 to 2 with shogun winning the 1st, 4th, & 5th rds – but the first 2 rds where vary close and the judges gave those to machida – and machida clearly won the 3rd – even thought i think you have to clearly beat the champ too take his belt, i thought shogun did enought to win – rematch dana please !

Shogun got robbed big time, were you watching a different fight, lol-jmsdevils.

    Everybody there was a mistake………………..

    The 3 judges were actually

    Stevie Wonder
    Ray Charles
    Helen Keller

(just a joke no one take it personal)

  4. Shogun defintely won that fight. It seem like everytime a decision gets fucked up Cecil Peoples is a judge. That fucking guy is a horrible judge. That asshole along with those other two judges definitely had their bets on Machida that night. If this becomes as corrupt as boxing, as much as I love MMA, I will stop watching it. I can’t beleive that these idiot judges have no consequences to face for that obvious, horrible decision. Machida won that fight about as much as Ben Rothwell beat Cain Valasquez.

UFC 108 or UFC 109 would be perfect for the rematch. Both fights are in Las Vegas! If that is enough time for both fighters to heal then make it happen UFC!

  6. Was not robbed – the fight was not one sided, then went to the other fighter – which is the definition of being robbed in a fight – its was not 100% clear who won, i watched it again and scored it the same 3-2 shogun – but shit happens ! – oh and i think UFC 109 would
    be perfect !

People have the right to be angry and have an opinion, that’s fine… but people should also probably do their homework and try to understand the scoring system before they go and bash the judges… if you ask me, those who go to extreme levels of bashing the judges are in fact everything that they are accusing the judges of being – POOR JUDGES! Listen, the judges aren’t poor judges, YOU are the damn poor judge in that you are poorly judging other people! haha… what gives you the right to tell someone how to do their job, when you know nothing about that job?! Many people think they know are very quick to judge others before even knowing anything about what the hell they’re talking about… and more often than not, they really know NOTHING at all about what they’re talking about! They’re just angry bitter human beings looking for excuses, which is crazy, and doesn’t make any sense to me! And who’s the easiest to blame in this situation?? The judges of course… that’s always the easiest thing to do anyway… Let me paint a picture for you ACTUAL poor judges.. Just for arguments sake, let’s assume you are Tiger Woods himself… you are not gonna go up to Lebron James and tell him how to do a double handed reverse slam dunk… right? 1) That wouldn’t be safe for your physical health, and 2) it’s just not smart… If Tiger were ever to plan on giving dunking lessons to Lebron, then it would be wise of him to first work on his hops and learn to dunk like a mad man before he should ever even consider giving him lessons… otherwise, he is being a poor judge himself…. speaking of slam dunks, Shogun never came close to slam dunking a victory in this match up… sorry to those out there who disagree, but he really didn’t.. That’s my opinion… say what you will, replay the fight enough times and you’ll see.

Now, these judges (scoring the Machida/Shogun fight – real judges) did not get picked off the streets of Compton, NY… I can tell you that much… I also don’t think that just anyone person/judge can simply walk into the UFC and possess the necessary credentials required for scoring a fight in an arena packed with thousands of drunk screaming fans with limited viewing angles, who know the scoring system guidelines well and are able apply those accurately to the fight (say what you will) while maintaining focus throughout amidst all the chaos in real time (no replays)… all three came to a unanimous decision (there’s no corruption, its not like boxing, quit the b/s everyone, get your heads out of the gutter!)… Also, why are people blaming just one ref, when all three came up with the same score?? They all watched the fight once, and called it well… Many people initially thought that Shogun had won the fight, but then after watching and replaying it several times in slow motion, without sound (to muffle out the biased commentators), they realized that the fight was actually a very close one, which altered their original opinion about the fight, as well as their opinions on the judges and the their ability to score a live fight… what does this mean? Simply that the judges didn’t do as bad a job as everyone says, and actually did a great good job!

Reality is, whether you agree or not, that it was a damn close fight… in real time, the casual fan notices the aggressor more than the counter striker… especially considering how no one has ever seen anyone connect with strikes to the champion as consistently as Shogun did…… but there is also such a thing called Octagon control which also plays into the judges scoring system (being the aggressor on striking alone won’t necessarily win you the fight) which a lot of people don’t realize… Octagon control is an obvious one that many people don’t even consider… A striker who fends off a grappler’s takedown attempt to remain standing and effectively strike is OCTAGON CONTROL my friends… so with that said, was Shogun able to take Machida down even once?? Nope… Were there many attempts by Shogun to take Machida to the ground? Damn strait there were lots… To add to that, shooting takedowns and getting countered and fended off is not effective aggressiveness in the judges score cards, and this should have been noticed at least by the commentators as well…. Machida’s octagon control caused Shogun to play Machida’s game in a sense, even though Shogun displayed effective Maui Tai.

In the end, of course, Shogun did a great job, in that he was able to display an effective game plan that worked for the most part… but was it enough?… he didn’t try to finish the fight because he said he felt like he was already winning the fight (as per what his corner was telling him)… well, either that’s true, or he just simply couldn’t finish the Dragon like he would have liked due stuffed takedowns and being hit by viscous counter strikes… maybe he played it too safe, or he was only able to partially solve the Machida puzzle… had he fully solved it, he would have landed the knockout that he was probably looking to get but failed to obtain… Many were saying that we were seeing a new and improved Shogun, but really we were seeing the old Shogun from pride, and the only difference is that he was incapable of putting his opponent away like he famously did in Pride against the likes of Rampage and various other great fighters.. As a result, the fight went to the scorecards… There’s no doubt that he has able to punish Machida with his vicious Maui Tai, but never actually put Machida in any serious danger….. On the flip side, there were several occasions where Machida had come close to another K.O to add to his highlight reel, but yet again, received very little credit once more by biased commentators and viewers of the fight.

So to those who disagree, go ahead and continue to disagree cuz nothing will change your minds of course, and that’s cool and with me… go and complain, and do no further research on how to score a fight… continue to blame the judges, and don’t blame Shogun for not finishing the fight cuz he couldn’t… To those sitting on the fence about this one, maybe I was able to shed some light for you, so that your not swayed by much of the mainstream regarding this “controversial” unanimous decision between the Dragon vs. the Shogun with Shogun getting “robbed of the title”… in my opinion, Machida is still the champion, and deserves to be until proven otherwise! Period!
