Great news! Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua II has been confirmed for May 1 in Montreal. The new comes straight from Dana White via Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel.
Dana White just told me: Lyoto Machida will defend UFC light heavyweight belt against Shogun Rua May 1 in Montreal.
No word yet on what number UFC event that will be.

Ya i was hoping for sooner too, but the way I see it with everything that’s been going down lately, it’s better than it not happening at all which I think was a legitimate concern.
Uh, it was definitely going to happen. the world would have flipped if it wouldnt have.
