The mystery is solved. Dana White revealed to Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel that Brock Lesnar had a hole (!) in his intestine.

“He had a hole in his intestine,” White said. “The (stuff) was leaking into his stomach. That’s what was causing him so much pain. That and he had abscesses.

“The doctor told him he hasn’t been right for a year. His immune system has been trying to fight this thing and that’s why he was susceptible to getting sick.”

“We’ll find out more next week,” White said. “We’re going to send him to the Mayo Clinic for a couple of days. I don’t know what to say. It’s looking better now than last week, but what that means, I don’t know.”

The good news is they found the problem and the worst seems to be over. The bad news is Lesnar’s career is still in question.

“We don’t know if he’ll ever fight again.”

White cautioned that things could still go either way. He could fight. He could not. No one knows at this point. Lesnar was resting Wednesday at his home in Alexandria, Minn. and was scheduled to visit the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. early next week for a battery of tests.

Well, hopefully this turns out to be a small bump in the road and not a career-ending condition. As much as I don’t like Brock at times, I always thought it was cool that he finally found what he loved to do in life, but to have it ripped away from him when he’s just getting started over a health problem would have to be nothing short of heartbreaking.

One last thing, contrary to what Dana told the LA Times, he has not made a decision about an interim title and won’t until they figure out if and when Brock is coming back.
