Even Strikeforce isn’t immune to the rash of injuries and illnesses that have hit MMA in the past few months.
Only a few days away from Strikeforce “Evolution,” Sherdog has learned that Trevor Prangley, who was already replacing an injured Benji Radach, has withdrawn from his fight with Robbie Lawler due to an undisclosed injury suffered in training.
Trevor Prangley has withdrawn from a featured middleweight bout against Robbie Lawler at Strikeforce “Evolution” this Saturday at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., Sherdog.com has confirmed with the promotion.
A Strikeforce rep said that a new opponent is being sought to face Lawler, but has not been locked down yet.
No word yet on exactly who Strikeforce has in mind to fill in for Prangley. Melvin Manhoef was named as a potential opponent for Lawler when his signing was announced, however it was believed he would be fighting in Japan on NYE at Dynamite!! 2009 making a fight with Lawler unlikely. That said, a bunch of match-ups were announced for Dynamite!! last night and Manhoef wasn’t among them so perhaps there’s still a chance.
