Strikeforce Fails To Find Opponent For Lawler, May Have Found One For Lashley

Robbie Lawler

Even with all roster additions Strikeforce has made in recent months, they were still unable to secure a replacement opponent for Robbie Lawler on Saturday’s Strikeforce “Evolution” card.

Robbie Lawler will not be competing this Saturday night after all. The middleweight fighter was supposed to face Trevor Prangley on the undercard of Showtime’s Strikeforce: Evolution card, but after Prangley was forced to withdraw earlier this week due to an injury suffered during training, the organization was left without an opponent.

Strikeforce tried to find an opponent for Lawler, but FanHouse has learned that they have decided to keep him off the card. The organization is hoping to reschedule him for the upcoming Jan. 30 event in Sunrise, Fla.

Sherdog says Strikeforce tried getting Kala Hose to step in but he has the flu and couldn’t make it. I wonder if they thought to ask Hector Lombard. He’s looking for a big fight in Strikeforce.

In other Strikeforce news, Bobby Lashley may have an opponent for Strikeforce’s Miami card on Jan. 30. According to MMA Worldwide, Lashley has agreed to fight Shane Del Rosario, though it has not yet been confirmed by the promotion.
