Thiago Alves Undergoes Successful 8-Hour Brain Surgery

While most people spent 8 hours today at their jobs working, Thiago Alves spent 8 hours today in an operating room with a team of medical professionals working on his brain. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Thiago can’t wait to get back in the gym.

Operating room spies tell TMZ Thiago Alves just underwent an 8 hour operation to separate an artery from a vein in his brain.

Dana White tells TMZ the operation — in a New York City hospital — was a complete success and Pitbull’s first words … “When can I start training again?”

Alves’ trainer Ricardo Liborio also confirmed Thiago is good and says he can start training again in three weeks as long as “he doesn’t do anything stupid.” Team Alves is already requesting a fight at UFC 114 on May 29 in Las Vegas.
