Frank Mir Doesn’t Have The Big Man Mentality, Focusing On Speed & Agility

It sounds like Frank Mir is dropping back down to the 245 lbs. range. Following his loss to Brock Lesnar at UFC 100, Mir packed on around 20 pounds of muscle. He felt in order to compete with the giants in the heavyweight division he needed to match their size and strength. After his loss to Shane Carwin though, Mir says he came to the realization that he doesn’t have the same kind of mentality they do inside the cage. Whereas they’re more focused on using strength to their advantage in the fight, he’s focused on using technique. And if he’s going to use his technique to win fights, he’s better off having speed and agility than size and strength.
