Vancouver Doesn’t Seem To Mind That Chuck Is Fighting Franklin Instead Of Tito

So apparently a lot of people are up in arms about Dana White, Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz denying (fibbing, lying, whatever you want to call it) all the rumors about Rich Franklin stepping in for Tito at UFC 115 when they knew that was the case all along. They obviously did it because of the reality show, but when it was time to announce tickets the UFC had to come clean.

Both Chuck and Tito seem relieved the cat’s finally out of the bag. They’re sorry they had to play along, but according to Tito at least, they had five million reasons to keep their mouths shut.

I haven’t lied to anyone. I was told not to say “Anything”! Having a chance to be sued for $5 million was not a chance I wanted to take. So watch TUF 11 and see what happens. I was just doing what I was told, for once. Sorry!

While it’s still unknown what happened to Tito, he is reassuring everyone that it wasn’t something that’s career threatening or forced him to part ways with the UFC. He plans to be in the cage again sometime this year, which makes all those injury rumors sound a lot more plausible, and says the fight with Chuck is still going to happen. Meanwhile, Chuck doesn’t think “that bitch ever planned on fighting me.” You know, same shit, different day.

Dana hasn’t exactly apologized yet for misleading fans, but he is excited to tell you about Liddell vs. Franklin.

“Fans and media have been asking me for weeks what is happening on The Ultimate Fighter Season 11, saying things like ‘is Tito off the show, is Chuck fighting Rich.’ Today, I’m officially announcing that Chuck Liddell will fight Rich Franklin at UFC 115.  I wish I could tell you why, but everyone’s just going to have to watch The Ultimate Fighter Season 11 on Spike TV. What I can say is that these are two UFC legends, and they give everything they have in every second of a fight.  Both of these guys are looking to get back to the top of the light heavyweight division.  Liddell and Franklin at 205 pounds is going to be a war, and I can’t wait to do our first UFC event ever in Vancouver.”

Well, Dana didn’t have to tell Vancouver twice. Fans on the internet might be pissed, but Vancouver doesn’t seem to care in the slightest who’s headlining because they gobbled up all the UFC 115 tickets in a mere 30 minutes earlier today. According to Dana White, UFC 115 is sold out.
