Shinya Aoki To Train With The Cesar Gracie Clan

As the old saying goes, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

That appears to be Shinya Aoki’s immediate plans after eating a giant slice of humble last weekend against Gilbert Melendez. According the official website of Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Shinya Aoki has requested to come train with the team, and Cesar has accepted. Aoki may be bringing other Japanese fighters with him as well. Should be a good experience for Aoki as long as Nick Diaz doesn’t see this or this.

Other news from Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu:

  • Nate Diaz will fight at 170 lbs. next. Looking forward to it.
  • Nick Diaz will spar with Chuck Liddell next week to help him prepare for Rich Franklin. Didn’t see that coming, but okay. Love to see that sparring session.
  • Team Cesar Gracie proclaims they are the #1 team in MMA with four fighters holding world titles. Four irrelevant promotional titles doesn’t necessarily mean #1, but yeah, the team is on a roll.
