“Give him the message, tell Dana White to excuse these nuts. I’m going to make an example out of him and his fighters. After I knock out Couture, if he wants he can get in there too. Dana White say he want to make an example out of me, I make an example out of everybody else. Dana White, I don’t care what he say, he can say whatever he want to say, but his ass too scared to get in the cage. That boy don’t fight in a cage… I ain’t got no problem with Dana outside of fighting; me and Dana are cool. Two peas in a pod, but other than that when it comes to this fighting thing, Dana better stay behind a desk and push a pen, and don’t predict nothing cause he’ll lose his company doing that.”
— James Toney, via MMA Weekly, responding to Dana White saying they’re going to “make an example out of him.”
Haha, James Toney just said “these nuts.” Been waiting for that glorious phrase to make a comeback.

hahahaha. these nuts want to see that fight real bad
yes you are my man finally someone with balls and not afraid of big challenges !
Toney will win the heavyweight title in boxing and ufc mark my words
Toney will knock couture out, coutures never takin a shot from anyone who can actually punch before. just sloppy wide armed punches from wrestlers… almost ape like. a clean 1, 2 right down the middle will put his old ass to sleep watch… or maybe a crisp uppercut when he shoots in for a double leg takedown leavig his head exposed… i cant wait to see this
man this Tony might become my successor someday
first i get my rematch before he`ll knock US OUT
Tony who?
tony is hotter than july
Have any of you guys ever watched tony fight ? you act like hes the best ever – his striking and over all boxing are good but come on if you know boxing you know hes a throwback fighter with lots of shoulder rolls and wins with his heavy hands – he will hit randy but just bcuz hes a boxer doesn’t mean one hit and its over – its not like randy would just go in the ring without a plan to get close – like he would just stand in front of him.
oh and I hope the whole Tony as a UFC champ was a joke!
Joey.M
We’ll see who’s the jokester when Toney runs through the UFC heavyweight division as fast as Big Country runs to Burger King
Who could stop Toney ? Is there anyone out there who could stop the man with the golden hands? Dos Santos ? Brook ?? Fedor?!? – nono, i see only one name, but Samuel Peter still doesnt plan to join MMA. Who nexsh ??
pure dynamite
What a joke. He won’t even figure out how to tap, so “Lights Out” it will be for him. MMA is not for idiots, Couture will prove that.
In 83 fights as a pro-boxer, 23 years of experience, he has never been knocked out by pro-strikers, ever. But you keep saying he’ll get knocked out. MMA fighters are amateur strikers. If you really knew what you’re talking about, you would have at least researched Toney’s record and chin. However you continue to prove how arrogant and uninformed MMA fans like you are. Your overwhelming bias blinds you and it reflects in the overall polls in favor of Couture. Your opinions are not as credible as you would like to believe.
You mean professional strikers with giant pillows covering their hands? I think boxing morons are the only “single discipline” retards who still think training one style really hard, (23 years for instance) is better than being a well-rounded hybrid fighter. LOL @ boxing goons.
Agreed !
Funny how so many people talk up Toney as a UFC champion. The frickin’ guy hasn’t fought a single MMA match!!! I’m guessing some of these comments are coming from those who are new to the UFC and don’t understand the sport and what it involves…
Tony’s only problem is his ground game.you can’t rely on pure striking.he reminds me of kimbo, and we all no what happened to him! If he wins this fight it will be from 1 lucky strike early in the first round.
Kimbo is a streetbrawler with poor striking technique and a glass jaw. James Toney is one of the best HW pro-boxers in the sports history. He’s also never been ko’d in all of his 23 years worth of 83 fights. There is a difference; an understatement
If u knew what u were talkin about then u would understand the difference between a KO in boxing, and a KO in MMA.it’s hard to KO someone with 16OZ gloves and a 10 count.all randy’s got 2 do when he takes toney down is land a couple of unanswerd shots, and the ref will stop it.that’s called a TKO incase u didn’t no.also even if he does outstrike randy, then randy will soften him up with leg kicks and then take him down.trust me toneys not going 2 no what 2 do off his back.
This is a lose/lose situation for Toney. If he wins, people will say it was a fluke. If he loses, people will claim MMA to be superior to ALL boxers. Let’s face it. This guy is over the age of 40 and he’s jumping into an entire new sport. If he comes even close to winning, we should give him all the credit in the world for even trying. You’ll never see any huge name MMA HW’s jump into the ring and throw down with Toney. If they won’t come to you, you need to go to them. I have a lot of respect for Toney for doing something like this. I’ll be rooting for him.
To everyone who says he stands no chance because he has no experience in the cage, what do you say about Brock Lesnar? That dude literally walked into the sport overnight and took it over by storm, with ZERO MMA experience. All of that technical skill and crap goes out the window when you get blasted in the jaw. I know the odds are stacked against him, but I wouldn’t count him out. The dude is seriously strong.
