The CSAC has released the fighter payouts for Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Noons II.” Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.
Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz led the pack with a $50,000 payday, but oddly enough, his purse was only half of the $100,000 flat fee he made when he won the title back in January. Josh Thomson also earned himself a $50,000 paycheck followed by his opponent, JZ Cavalcante, with $40,000. On the lower end of the spectrum, KJ Noons pocketed $10,000 in defeat while Marloes Coenen only made $3,000 in her championship win. Hopefully, she’s able to renegotiate her contract now that she’s the women’s welterweight champ.
