When Dana White said they were working on booking a few WEC fighters, most notably Jose Aldo, in UFC fights this past weekend, he apparently wasn’t kidding. According to Tatame, Jose Aldo was offered a UFC fight against Kenny Florian in December but his management turned the fight down.
WEC featherweight Champion Jose Aldo revealed to TATAME that he has been offered a fight against Kenny Florian, in which he’d move up to fight Kenny Florian, in December. According to the fighter, his managers declined the bout. “They made the proposal. I wanna fight, it can be at WEC or in the UFC”, he told TATAME.
It’s a shame too, because Florian says he would be all over that if the fight was offered to him.
Neither myself or my mgr @malkikawa have been offered Jose Aldo but that would be a dream fight. I would take that fight with the quickness… Jose Aldo is as good as it gets & is one of the best pnd 4 pnd. Who wouldn’t want to take that fight?! I’m here to fight the best.
Bummer. Maybe one day, but for now, it looks like Jose Aldo is going to stay in the WEC and defend his featherweight title at least one more time. His next title defense will likely take place in January against either Mark Hominick or Josh Grispi.
