Looks like Chris Leben has managed to land himself in trouble once again. According to a report on HawaiiNewsNow.com, Leben was arrested earlier this evening on suspicion of driving under the influence after wrecking his truck.
Officers arrested Christian Leben, 30, a middleweight fighter known as the Crippler, on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant Tuesday. He was released from custody after posting $1,000 bail.
Police say Leben was driving on the west-bound side of the H1 Freeway just before 2 AM, when he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a wall near the Kapiolani Boulevard off ramp. He was allegedly driving without a license and without insurance.
If the DUI sticks, it wouldn’t be his first. He got one back in 2005, and was even sentenced to 35 days in jail three years later when he moved to Hawaii and violated his probation. If Leben spends any significant amount of time in jail this time, it could jeopardize his fight against Brian Stann at UFC 125, but it’s too soon to say one way or the other just yet.
Leben has a court date set for November 22 in Honolulu.
