Brett Rogers Fought Over The Weekend And Won

With all the hoopla surrounding UFC 121, you probably didn’t know it, but Brett Rogers fought this weekend at a W-1 show and rebounded from his two devastating losses to Fedor Emelianenko and Alistair Overeem. He won an unanimous decision, the first of his career, against Ruben “Warpath” Villareal, the same fighter Bas Rutten leg kick KO’d in his last professional fight. I haven’t found any footage of the fight yet, but it doesn’t sound like we missed anything good. Brett insinuates in the interview that he didn’t have the conditioning to go the full 15 minutes.

Rogers isn’t sure what’s next, but he’d like to fight for Strikeforce in January.

Notables Shinya Aoki and Jeff Monson also picked up wins this weekend at different events. Murilo “Ninja” Rua was on the W-1 card with Rogers but he lost a decision to Team Cesar Gracie prospect Roy Boughton. Oh, and Paulo Filho lost only the second fight of his career against Marcos Rogerio “Pezao” de Lima at FCF 5.

better get back into the gym and get some conditioning then because Strikeforce’s Heaveyweight Devision is becoming stacked, and if they havent already cut him it will happen in the near futrue if he don’t win a significiant figt. They should give him Bobby Lashely if Bobby wins the rematch with Chad Griggs
