WEC 52 ‘Faber vs. Mizugaki’ Fighter Salaries

MoneyThe NSAC has released the fighter salaries for WEC 52. Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional undisclosed bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.

To no one’s surprise, Urijah Faber took home the biggest paycheck at last night’s WEC 52 event. With his win and submission bonus, Faber earned $66,000 in disclosed pay. His Team Alpha Male teammate, Joseph Benavidez, was next in line with a $35,000 payday followed by Cub Swanson with $32,000 after his Fight of the Night bonus.

As usual, the payouts were small, but the good news there’s no reason to complain about it anymore with the WEC finally merging with the UFC. It will be very interesting to see how big of a raise these guys get in 2011.

WOW !!!! These fighters need to get paid better. Pacquiao is to make 25 million in his fight this weekend, meanwhile the whole fight card payroll of WEC 52 was $ 314,500, that’s crazy. Dana White and who ever else is in charge of payroll should be ashamed of themselves, maybe they need to go a couple rounds in the octagon.
