It wasnt an issue because he fought big guys that were bums. Like Hong Man. Think about it. Even Hong Man was beating his ass until he got lucky and got him in an arm bar. A guy like Silva who is huge and has some talent is a different story. Arm bar not gonna happen on a BJJ black belt.
Fedor did look off on fight night for some reason. If he woulda landed a bomb and knocked him out, nobody would have thought any different.

Watch all of Fedor’s fights and then watch the ones since he fought Arlovski. It isn’t that Fedor is fighting in the wrong division, it’s that he is not fighting like Fedor anymore. He used to fight very intelligently with controlled aggression, he actually used to use his world champion Sambo and Silver Medalist Judo to pull off slick submissions and ragdoll guys even bigger than Silva. He also had brutal ground and pound which he also used to help him Dominate his opponents. In the Arlovski fight and ever since, he ceased to fight like that anymore and has resorted to impatient brawling and wild swining with seemingly no strategy other than to knock his opponent out with a lucky punch.

I have no idea what Fedor thinks he is trying to accomplish with his new fighting style but it’s going to result in nothing but losses if he keeps fighting this way. He needs to get back to his old style and actually use his incredible skill-set. Without it, he just isn’t Fedor.
