The CSAC has released the fighter payouts for Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Daley.” Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.
Despite being “overworked and underpaid,” Nick Diaz still managed to pull in the top purse at Saturday’s night event with $175,000. If he couldn’t get his Honda fixed before, he has no excuses now. Gilbert Melendez and Gegard Mousasi (rather surprisingly) were right behind him with $150,000 paychecks. Japanese stars Tatsuya Kawajiri and Shinya Aoki also did quite well for themselves with $97,612.50 and $73,637.50 paydays.
