And the first Strikeforce fighter to sign with the UFC post-buyout is… Jason “Mayhem” Miller. MMA Fighting confirmed the news with Mayhem’s manager earlier today.
The popular middleweight has signed a new multi-fight agreement with the organization, Miller’s manager Ryan Parsons confirmed with MMA Fighting.
The 30-year-old Miller (24-7, 1 NC) was able to sign with the UFC due to the fact that his contract with Strikeforce had expired. No word just yet on when his first fight back inside the Octagon will take place.
Mayhem recently put the UFC middleweight division on notice, telling Ariel Helwani, “I will beat the brakes off most of the guys in the middleweight divisions in the UFC. I guaran-damn-tee it.”
Well, now he’ll get his chance to put his money where his mouth is. How far do you see Mayhem making it in the UFC middleweight shark tank?
Update: You probably already know this by now, but if not, Mayhem Miller will fight Aaron Simpson at UFC 132.
“Crafty veteran and colorful personality Jason “Mayhem” Miller has verbally agreed to make his UFC return against powerful wrestler Aaron “A-Train” Simpson in a middleweight matchup July 2 in Las Vegas,” said UFC President Dana White.
