You Could Lose A Big Toe Practicing Jiu-Jitsu, Apparently

Like any form of martial art, practicing jiu-jitsu comes with a fair amount of inherent risk. Bones can be broken, joints can be tweaked, ligaments can be torn and staph infections can be contracted. It’s the nature of the beast, but that’s usually about as bad as it gets.

Usually.

Miguel Torres tweeted a picture today with the caption: “Worst BJJ injury to ever happen in my gym courtesy of my boy Parrish.” How bad it could be, right? Maybe a dislocated elbow or even a compound fracture? Yeah, not quite… I’ll let you scroll down and see for yourself, but I have to warn you: Don’t look if a) you’re squeamish, b) you’re sitting at a work/public computer or c) you don’t want to see A BIG TOE HANGING BY A PIECE OF SKIN FROM A DUDE’S FOOT!
