PSAC Overturns UFC on Versus 4’s Oliveira vs. Lentz, Rules It A No-Contest

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission has overturned Charles Oliveira’s submission victory over Nik Lentz at UFC on Versus 4 and ruled it a no-contest. If you missed it, the fight ended with Oliveira hurting Lentz with a clearly illegal knee (as seen in the gif to the right) and submitting him with a rear-naked choke while he was still dazed. The ref missed it (no idea how), but the commission and everyone watching didn’t.

PSAC executive director Gregory Sirb today confirmed the change with (

“After review of the tape of this contest and after consultation with the referee, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission has ruled that the results of this match will be changed to a no-contest,” a statement read. “This change is a direct result from an accidental kick to the head by Mr. Oliveira to a grounded Mr. Lentz.”

Incidentally, Oliveira and Lentz earned $50,000 Fight of the Night bonuses for a fight that is now officially a no-contest. I think that might be a first.
