Josh Koscheck Hints At One-Off Middleweight Fight For UFC Return

Josh Koscheck has been out of action for quite awhile nursing his face back to health after Georges St. Pierre jabbed it to death at UFC 124 last December. It’s unclear when he’ll actually get back in the Octagon, but Koscheck did post some rather interesting remarks about his return on Twitter today. Instead of jumping right back in the thick of things in the welterweight division, Koscheck hinted at doing a one-off middleweight fight first.

I did ask for my next fight to be nov 19 in san jose at 185 :)

My manager @DeWayneZinkin knows who I called out at 185 follow him & ask him who it is…maybe he will tell you. Lol

FYI I only want 1 fight at 185 then back to WW. :) just something real fun for the fans.

Koscheck didn’t say who it is, but Cage Potato is hearing that his former TUF 1 rival Chris Leben is Koscheck’s target. Whether that’s who Koscheck has his eye on or not, I’m a little disappointed that it won’t be Chael Sonnen, who’s now expected to fight Brian Stann at UFC 136. A Koscheck-Leben reunion would be good, but Koscheck and Sonnen’s fighting styles and penchant for dropping verbal bombs would have made for some seriously explosive action both in and out of the cage.
