Scott Coker Isn’t Sure If Alistair Overeem Will Fight For Strikeforce Again

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani caught up with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker to talk about this weekend’s “Fedor vs. Henderson” card, Gina Carano’s status and the K-1 sale. However, the biggest takeaway from the interview was his comments on Alistair Overeem. He’s pretty much sticking with Dana White’s story (the toe injury), but unlike Dana, he didn’t sound as sure about Overeem’s future in the organization. When asked if Alistair Overeem would fight for Strikeforce again, Coker simply said that’s something he’ll have to sit down with Overeem’s manager, Bas Boon, and discuss.

yeah it seems that strikeforce’s top names are fading away from strikeforce very soon they will be completely swallowed up by UFC.

I personally feel that Overeem is trying to avoid getting in the mix with the ufc fighters and going to other promotions……he will make more money and keep his reputation as this huge marketable guy that most promotions will eat up…..look he got beat by chuck liddell and his perfomance against werdum was a joke (both their faults) but the bottom line is that he doesnt want to be in strikeforce if he knows he is going to be fighting ufc fighters. honestly if your strickly in it for the money it’s a smart move….JDS,CARWIN,CAIN,BROCK, and hell maybe even Roy Nelson would beat him!!1
