Rafael Feijao Knocked Out Yoel Romero With A Broken Arm

You didn’t see it on Showtime, but former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Rafael Feijao scored a big knockout victory against Yoel Romero on Saturday night’s Strikeforce card. The sequence of events that led to the finish were brutal, but what made the knockout even more impressive was the fact that Feijao did it with a broken arm. Here he is telling Tatame about it.

I couldn’t do my best because I broke my arm on the first round… When I tried to punch him, he dodged and my forearm hit his head and broke. I went to the hospital after the fight to do an X-ray and it’s really broken… He pressured me on the second round, but I overcame that. What made a big difference on this fight were my trainings, I was able to show I’m back.

It’s not certain yet, but Feijao expects his arm will require surgery.
