Sonnen, who said he has not signed a contract yet, did confirm that the UFC was sending out a film crew for the “Countdown” show that normally airs to help hype upcoming pay-per-view fights. That would leave many to believe an official decision is on the horizon.
I believe I have the fight. I believe it’ll happen in June. But I still don’t have a contract. But the ‘Countdown’ show is scheduled to come out to my home in two days, so I guess something is going to happen.
The rumors have Silva-Sonnen II taking place this summer from Sao Paulo, Brazil. “The Spider” earned a submission victory against Sonnen in the first meeting, pulling the win out of nowhere while down on the scorecards.
If this match does take place in Brazil – Silva’s native country – it will be anything but a polite welcome for Sonnen. Since the Silva fight, Sonnen has attacked Silva, his family and the Brazilian people seemingly every single day.
