UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre continues to rehab from knee surgery that took him out of a planned fight earlier this year with Nick Diaz.
The injury, however, will not keep GSP from taking part in the upcoming World Series Of Poker, as he recently signed a 12-month deal with 888 Poker. St-Pierre will be competing to earn money for his anti-bullying charity.
“I have wanted to play poker for a while now as it is a great game of skill,” said St-Pierre, during a recent press conference. “It is not just your cards vs. my cards. The most important aspect of my partnership with 888 Poker is that we are going to generate a great deal of money for my foundation that dedicates its efforts towards anti-bullying causes.”
St-Pierre is expected to return later this year, likely in an unification bout with Carlos Condit, who currently holds the interim UFC welterweight title. In terms of his card-playing skills, it will likely be very hard to get a good read out of St-Pierre, who has a very focused demeanor.
