United Nations Conference Could Cause Change In UFC 147 Date

Maybe the United Nations could bring peace between Chael Sonnen, Anderson Silva and the rest of the people of Brazil.

The United Nations has scheduled a conference for June 20-22 in Brazil, which happens a day before the planned UFC 147 card featuring Sonnen-Silva II in the main event for the UFC middleweight title.

UFC president Dana White told reporters during the post-fight UFC on FUEL TV 2 press conference that nothing has been worked out yet, but he hopes everything will be solved soon.

We’re working on it, it’s still a work in progress. The problem down in Rio right now is they’re having a big United Nations convention down there, so there’s some stuff going on. We’re working through it. We’re waiting to hear back, we’re trying to figure this whole thing out.

White had hopes to have everything sorted out prior to the card in Sweden, but that didn’t happen. In his mind, things will be defined in the next few days.
