Rashad Evans has the experience edge on UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
“Suga” and “Bones” will meet this Saturday night in the main event of UFC 145 from Atlanta on pay-per-view. The two former teammates have been making the rounds to promote the card over the past two months, and “UFC Tonight” analyst Kenny Florian believes Evans has gotten the better of Jones.
“The issue is the verbal battle between the two. Evans has been beating Jones verbally for the last six weeks,” Florian said. “That can really get into your head.”
However, Florian, a former challenger to the UFC belt in multiple divisions, added, “The reality is Jones should beat every 205 in the world nine-out-of-10 times. he has an 84-and-a-half-inch reach, the longest in the UFC. And a big issue is his talent level. He has the ability to mix things up. He’s on a different level than most fighters.”
Of course, everything could blow up when the two go toe-to-toe inside Philips Arena, as there is no love-lost between them. Add in the pressure of defending/winning a UFC title, and all bets are off in this fight.
