Georges St-Pierre Slowly Progressing Through Rehab, Anxious To Return To Octagon

Georges St-Pierre is in Atlanta helping members of the Tristar Gym prepare for Saturday night’s UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans card.

The UFC welterweight champion is also rehabbing from knee surgery. The long road back is proving to be a difficult one for St-Pierre, as he told MMA Junkie recently.

When you get hurt for a long time and you’re forced to get pulled away from training and you’re forced to stop doing what you like to do everyday, it makes you see things in perspective. I just want to get back, and wherever the fight will be, I will be glad to fight. I’m very anxious to come back.

GSP added that he “feels good,” but is not yet in fighting shape. He also said that he is taking it slow so that he doesn’t have another knee injury creep back up on him in the near future.

When St-Pierre does return, he is likely to face Carlos Condit to crown a UFC welterweight champion. Condit won the interim crown earlier this year in a fight with Nick Diaz.
