Thursday night, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones gathered with his younger brother, Chandler, to view the NFL Draft.
Chandler, a defensive end from Syracuse University, was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round as the 21st overall selection. He was projected by many as a high pick, but the decision by the Pats to grab him brought quite a bit of excitement to the Jones family.
“Right now the kid is a broke college kid,” said Jon, during an interview with the Ithaca Journal, “but 24 hours from now he’ll be more successful than me and Arthur (the third Jones brother) put together.”
Arthur is a defensive end for the Baltimore Ravens and the oldest of the three.
Jon recently defended his UFC belt with a decision victory over Rashad Evans. Put together, with the success of Jon inside the Octagon, and two NFL players, it is quite obvious why some are calling the Jones’ “America’s Most Athletic Family.”
