Lyoto Machida-Ryan Bader Tabbed For UFC On FOX 4

According to a report by iG, a Brazilian news outlet, Lyoto Machida and Ryan Bader have signed on to face each other at UFC on FOX 4.

The event is set for Los Angeles on August 4.

Machida would be another former UFC light heavyweight champion for Bader to face, as “Darth” defeated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in his most recent fight.

Bader, a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter, has also been inside the Octagon with the likes of Tito Ortiz (a submission loss) and current UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones (also a submission defeat).

“Looks like it’s out already, not official yet but Machida on Aug 4th. Very excited to have the opportunity to fight at UFC on FOX,” Bader posted on Twitter.

Machida is just 1-3 in his last four fights, including a loss to Jones last December. He defeated Randy Couture early in 2011, but was topped by Jackson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in 2010.

I’m still not sure how this is gonna go but I think bader should start brushing up on his jiu jitsu or at least submission defense

His loss to Jackson was a UD.

Yeah, I meant to just say defeated. Sometimes I forget using stopped makes it sound like the bout had a stoppage finish and not just a defeat:)

Bader beat Rampage because he lost his passion.  This will be a true test for Bader and if he wins, I think he might stand a chance against a Shogun or Evans.

I was thinking in ”Gustaffson vs Machida ” or ”Gus vs Bader” … difficult test for Bader, i think Machida will win this one. So who’s next for Gustafsson ? Rogeiro Nogueira ? or a rematch with Davis ? Also in this cards : Ben Rothwell vs Travis Browne ( after win this, the heavyweith BJ Penn deserves a fight against a top 5, he’s really good ) and Lombard vs Stann ! Incredible card !

D’you mean to say tired of “The Dragon”? How can you be tired of him? I mean, I know he hasn’t looked so hot in his last four fights, but the dude is a G. I’ll never get tired of watching him fight. I think this is the perfect fight to break this dry spell he’s been on. Honestly, would Jones vs. Bader II go any differently?

      couldn’t agree more, man!

  • Ben Rage

I can’t wait for this one. I have to go with Machida.

Seems kinda unlikely that Bader will ko/tko Machida…And even more unlikely that he will submit The dragon. Perhaps he can lay and pray on Machida for three rounds?
Prediction: Machida Ko:s Bader in the second round.
