The planned middleweight tilt between Michael Bisping and Tim Boetsch for UFC 148 is no longer on track, according to a report by MMA Junkie’s Steven Marrocco.
The fight was scheduled to be part of the action-packed July 7 card from Las Vegas. Currently, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen are the main event for UFC 148, while UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will star in the co-main event.
Other bouts planned include Rich Franklin-Cung Le and Forrest Griffin-Tito Ortiz.
Bisping is coming off a decision loss to Sonnen that kept him from claiming the shot at Silva, while Boetsch was victorious via knockout over former top contender Yushin Okami in his latest fight.
The report states that Bisping-Boetsch will now take place at UFC 149, which is set for July 21 from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
