Dustin Poirier and Chan Sung Jung will collide in what should be a thrilling main event tonight at UFC on FUEL TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier from Fairfax, Virginia.
Poirier has compiled a 12-1 record, including five consecutive wins since a loss to Danny Castillo in his WEC debut. He’s earned back-to-back submission victories over Max Holloway and Pablo Garza to place himself in a strong position in the featherweight division.
With this match against Jung, Poirier knows he’ll have to be on top of his game, as “The Korean Zombie” is coming off a seven-second knockout of Mark Hominick.
“Fans can expect everything from me on Tuesday night, even the kitchen sink,” said Poirier, in a recent interview with FightLine. “It’s going to be a war; it’s going to be an incredible 25 minutes. I’m excited to test myself and I know this will make me a better fighter. We’re going to go in there and rise to the occasion.”
Many feel like a win over Jung would place Poirier in the No. 1 contender spot for a potential meeting with Jose Aldo. However, “The Diamond” isn’t concerning himself with anything but Jung right now.
