Chael Sonnen, the No. 1 contender in the UFC’s middleweight division, was his usual colorful self while on “UFC Tonight” recently.
Sonnen, who will face Anderson Silva for the belt in July at UFC 148, remarked, “I know who I’m fighting. Probably some guy you have never heard of: his name is Anderson Silva. And come July 8, you will never hear of him again,” when asked about his next opponent.
Sonnen also discussed his training with former WWE superstar “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at his ranch in Texas, saying, “he’s torturing me. It isn’t overly pleasant. I don’t like it, if you want to know.”
Sonnen-Silva II takes place July 8 from Las Vegas. The fight was scheduled to go down in Brazil, but issues caused the change in venue.
