Cris ‘Cyborg’ Plans To Return To Women’s MMA As Bantamweight

Cristiane “Cyborg” Venancio (formerly Santos) confirmed in a Twitter exchange with Five Ounces of Pain that she will return to action as a bantamweight.

Currently, “Cyborg” is under suspension for a failed post-fight drug test where she was found to have an anabolic steroid in her system. Her suspension should be over in December of this year.

Venancio was the Strikeforce featherweight champion when he was stripped of the title by Zuffa for the failed drug test. It remains unknown if she will still compete for the promotion once her suspension is over.

By moving to 135 pounds, “Cyborg” sets up a possible match with current Strikeforce champion Ronda Rousey in the future.

Now that would be a nasty fight!

Ah ha! I think it’s funny how you wrote “he was stripped of the title by Zuffa”. Too funny. I’m really interested in seeing if she can even make 135. I remember her saying she struggled to make featherweight.

Maybe it’ll be all about cutting some drugs that made her so muscled.

Please come back, Cyborg. And without the steroids this time. Let’s see how well you do when you’re not a man beating up on women. I wager you won;t be quite so dominant, and that Ronda will beat you to a pulp. I can;t wait tot see you get your comeuppance. Cheat.
