Jon Jones Delivers Brief Statement On His Twitter Account

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will have to answer for his actions on Saturday morning eventually.

For now, the rising star has sent out a brief message via Twitter.

Early Saturday morning, Jones crashed his car into a pole and was charged with suspicion of DUI. His management team has issued a statement, but “Bones” has yet to say anything publicly. The UFC has also remained quiet in regards to the matter for the most part.

Jones is currently scheduled to face Dan Henderson in his second title defense of the year at UFC 151 in September. Last month, Jones downed rival Rashad Evans via decision.

I understand that this is “big” news, but I’m not sure why people judge it so quickly. I don’t know anyone that hasn’t had a few drinks and the driven somewhere. Not to say it should be done, but Jones is still a kid and he is gonna make mistakes. I’m by no means a Bones fan because it seems as though he tries to do and say the right thing instead of it just coming natural. Something about that just seems fake. At the same time, he did run down a criminal on foot so he certainly has a good heart. I just wish it didn’t seem like he was always trying to play the part of a good Christian guy, and just be himself….young, rich, arrogat(confident), talented, and apparently a bad driver while
    Intoxicicated.

Hes trying to be a good road model to the kids out there. My thought is the fames getting to him and he`ll be finished in a year or 2

Who is he trying to be? Tim Tebow?

why did they make a big deal about ross pearsons dui? jon jones slips under the radar (i could care less we all mess up but its still strange).  maybe ufc needs him to be more fake then pearson because celebrity status.

jones is the fakest fighter in the ufc.  michael bisping and koschec are massive douches but they propably have more fans becuase the seem to have human traits.
